JD, : It's a shame it seems like this finger injury is going to hamper any ability for Konnor Griffin to really put together a statement in the second half and dispel the narrative that he floundered in his first taste of big league action. He's been by no means awful but stealing twenty bases is not the same value driver that it used to be and doesn't point to the underlying skill set being incredibly valuable in the long. Everything from his underlying metrics to his surface stats points to a player who is fast but kind of swings a wet noodle. I don't expect him to fit this profile forever but he definitely did not impress in his first taste of big league action and I'm worried that's going to hamper him going into next year. On the other hand there's a certain Angels player whose last name may or may not be fish-related who had a very similar debut that caused people to lose some faith in him, and look how he turned out. And I'm not talking about Tim Salmon.
