A playoff pool with no draft. Before the Wild Card round, pick one player from each box of similar players. Every game your players appear in scores points, and later rounds are worth more. Players whose teams are eliminated stop scoring, so picking teams that go deep is half the game. Most points after the World Series wins.

How it works
Join with the invite link or from the public leagues page.
Pick one player from each box. Boxes group players of similar value (aces, closers, sluggers, and so on). At most 3 players from any one MLB team.
Entries lock at first pitch of the first Wild Card game.
Every game your players appear in scores points. Points multiply by round.
When a player's team is eliminated, he stops scoring.
After the Division Series you may swap up to 2 eliminated players for unused players from the same box on surviving teams. Swapped-in players score from the League Championship Series on.
Scoring
Hitters: single +1, double +2, triple +3, home run +4, run +1, RBI +1, walk +1, hit by pitch +1, stolen base +2, strikeout -0.5.
Pitchers: inning pitched +1, strikeout +1, win +4, quality start +3, save +5, hold +3, earned run -2, walk allowed -0.5, hit allowed -0.5, loss -2.
Round multipliers: Wild Card 1x, Division Series 1x, League Championship 1.5x, World Series 2x.
These are the default numbers. A commissioner can change any of them before the league opens, and the Rules tab inside every league shows the numbers in force.
The fine print
Only postseason games count. Regular-season stats never score.
A player on a playoff roster who never appears scores zero but counts as alive until his team is out.
Ties break by more players still alive, then by World Series points.
FanRanked builds the boxes from the twelve playoff teams once the field is decided; they cannot change after the first entry is saved.
How to play it well
Depth matters more than star power: a good player on a World Series team out-scores a great player who goes out in the Wild Card round.
Spread your picks. The 3-per-team cap is there for a reason, and one upset can wipe out a stacked entry.
Use the swaps. Two live players in the LCS at 1.5x beat two eliminated ones every time.
