JD, : I think we may be finally witnessing the decline of one of the most steady and reliable contributors in dynasty fantasy leagues for the last 9 years. Excluding a down 2019, he has returned at least $24 of value every year while being a top 10 player 6 times. He honestly went on a generational run and I believe he has a decent shot at a Hall of Fame nomination when he eventually wraps it up. However this is a dynasty ranking list and we need to make sure we are honest with what we should expect from him going forward. While never being a Statcast darling, he did take some significant steps back in all of his major underlying metrics, with my biggest concerns being his 3-year steady decline of average exit velocity and bat speed. At this age, these things don't turn themselves around, so it's going to be more about managing the decline rather than trying to reverse the trajectory. He still managed to steal 37 bags this year and I think he is an above-average base stealer that should continue to run into his mid-to-late 30s, and if he can get to 20 home runs he's going to be pretty valuable for the next 3 to 4 years (regardless of how the underlying stats deteriorate). Just don't be surprised if the .235 batting average is more the norm rather than the batting average that hovers in the .280s, and if the power doesn't come back he's going to be a two- or three-category contributor going forward rather than the 5-category stud he has been for so long.
