Frequently asked questions

When do the Week 1 projections publish?

The weekly board regenerates every Tuesday once the previous week's games are final, then refreshes again Thursday and Sunday morning as injury designations and Vegas lines move.

What goes into a weekly projection that a season projection does not?

Three things: the opponent, priced as a regressed per-position defensive adjustment; the game environment, taken from the Vegas total and spread, so an implied team total and the likely game script are in the number; and the player's current injury designation and practice participation, which set his chance of playing.

Do you use anyone else's projections?

No. Every number here comes from FRANK, FanRanked's own model. Third-party projection feeds are used in one place only, the internal backtest that scores our model against a benchmark, and they never touch a number you see.
