JD on Kevin McGonigle (Jun 10, 2026): Think about a player who has 3 HRs in 237 PA but has more walks than strikeouts, a .400 on-base percentage, and is putting up a .374 xwOBA at 21 years old - how are you evaluating that player? I think I'm more bullish on McGonigle just because of how impressed I've been with his batted ball profile and maybe the home runs are going to come down the line rather than this year. I think this is one of those situations where everyone expected so much from him that there is some disappointment despite some really impressive underlying metrics. His 30-home-run years may not come for a couple of years but you're going to get some really great stats all around while waiting for the power to mature.
JD on Yordan Alvarez (Jun 10, 2026): Does anyone else find it hard to believe that your Yordan is only 28 years old (about to be 29)? I hope he stays healthy for the remainder of the season because man, is it fun to watch him absolutely clobber pitchers like Barry Bonds in his peak steroid era. There's nothing in his profile I'm really worried about except lingering injury concerns. I think he can put it together for a full season but the upside is second to only Aaron Judge but he's five years younger. I would've made a straight up trade of Judge for Yordan before the rib injury, and now there isn't even a question.
