JD on Hunter Brown (Jun 3, 2026): What is scarier, shoulder injuries or elbow injuries? When I was growing up I was always told that elbow injuries are always more dangerous and shoulder injuries usually resulted from throwing the ball correctly but just being overworked (just some of the bs that floated around baseball until the data driven paradigm we are in now). I would say that a shoulder injury is the most scary because there are so many moving pieces whereas an elbow is a pretty straightforward injury to repair (most of the time). I'm willing to make an exception with Brown though because he's looked so good in rehab and was so dominant in two starts this season. If he comes back healthy, he'll be a top ten starter for me. Just have to put the injury tag on him for the time being.
