Too close to call in dynasty or redraft. The FanRanked staff dynasty board has them nearly level, Carroll #17 and Skubal #19, and the expert consensus agrees (#12 and #14). The community rates them even, FRV 81.8 and 83.5. For 2026 redraft, the consensus has them close, Carroll #15 and Skubal #17, but the rest-of-season engine has Skubal ahead ($14 to $11).
JD on Corbin Carroll (Jun 2, 2026): I had always been a Corbin Carroll denier and took a premature victory lap when he had his shoulder issues in 2024. Unfortunately that means I have been very late to the Corbin Carroll train and he probably is much more valuable than I am ranking him here. I think he is definitely a guy that should be looked at as a top 10 cornerstone piece in dynasty fantasy baseball and probably will be there for the next five years because he's only 25 years old. Don't make the same mistake I did, buy buy buy.
JD on Tarik Skubal (May 27, 2026): Like I said in the Skenes blurb, I would have had him as my number one overall starter before the season started in Dynasty but the injury bug bit him. You can't have an injured pitcher be the number one overall in Dynasty option. Allegedly he is progressing well through rehab but if I see him come back towards the end of the year like he never missed a beat, then he might move back up for me. Like a house of cards, once you pull one card out of the foundation, things start to crumble and the whole frame becomes less stable. Obviously upside is number one overall pitcher. No one is disputing that. It's a matter of preference at this point. My preference is healthier, more durable pitchers over injury-prone pitchers, even if their upside might be higher.
