JD on Bryan Woo (May 27, 2026): I'm a sucker for guys with excellent command (part of the reason why I like Cristopher Sanchez so much) and Woo feels like a guy who could be the number one overall pitcher if his K-rate was just a little stronger. I think you can bank on Wu to be an elite top fifteen arm for the next four or five years and he has modest injury concerns but I don't think they are as significant as some of the others on the list.
JD on Drew Rasmussen (Oct 27, 2026): Rasmussen feels like a 26-year-old inside of a 31-year-old body just because of how little we have seen of him as he has been rebuilt with a bionic arm across 3 surgeries. I actually think Rasmussen might be one of the most attractive starters in redraft leagues next year. You get in a pitcher on an elite team with a ton of win potential, outstanding ratios, and enough Ks to get the job done. The WHIP really does the heavy lifting for me as I find pitchers who can consistently maintain a sub-1.0 whip to be some of the most talented in all of baseball. However when it comes to dynasty, he is a bit of an unknown quantity. The track record for durability of pitchers who have had three surgeries like this is not great, and the Rays might play it cautious at any sign of an issue (by limiting his innings or easing him into the postseason next year, right when fantasy players need him most). Because he has less mileage than most elite arms at his age, I think he might actually be underrated from a dynasty perspective but you have to trust that the injury history won't rear its head. I lean more toward the former than the latter but I would blame you for staying away in dynasty formats just because of the injury issues.
