Dynasty: too close to call. The FanRanked staff dynasty board has them nearly level, Baez #159 and Hope #160, and the expert consensus agrees (#142 and #151). The community rates them even, FRV 54.8 and 55.8.
JD on Joshua Baez (Aug 20, 2026): It's pretty incredible that Baez hit 3 HR in his first game and now looks like he can't hit a baseball. He hit 34 home runs in AAA this year and looks like he will easily eclipse the 40-home run mark between the two levels this year. Pretty good for a player who wasn't really an upper-echelon prospect outside of a few sources heading into the year. Long term I think he will be a pretty productive bat for the Cardinals with plenty of power and a questionable hit tool that will probably lead to low averages and a lot of strikeouts. I think he'll definitely carve out a good role for himself but will be susceptible to peaks and valleys. The good news is that he doesn't have the Jordan Walker problem where he likes to beat balls into the ground for fun so he probably won't have the same initial issues that Walker had when he first came to the big leagues.
JD on Zyhir Hope (Aug 3, 2026): I love the landing spot for Hope with the Tigers, but I think every Dodgers prospect is better off getting out of LA and not having to compete with each other for playing time. Hope slots in immediately as the #2 prospect in the #1 prosect in the Tigers org for me (most people would have him #2 behind Max Clark, but I am not as high on him as most). With a .293 BA and 23 homeruns in AA this year, Hope has the kind of power that should allow him to reach 30 HR's a season easily, but still has enough of a hit tool that he should be able to hit for a relatively high average at the big league level. The tigers now look like a very exciting team with their pipeline of talent and Hope is another notch in the belt for a deep farm system.
