JD on Joe Ryan (Aug 5, 2026): Something looks off with Joe Ryan, and I know he goes through ups and downs with his stuff and his results but it seems like this time might be different. It's easier to overlook when you're on the right side of 20 but now that he's over 30 he feels more like a ticking time bomb than most guys in the top 20 starting pitchers. This is coming off of a trade that I made in my home league where I'm absolutely going for it - Will Smith, Jordan Lawlar, Bryce Rainer, and Geraldo Perdomo - that already looks really bad with how Joe Ryan struggles in the second half. I still think he'll be relatively fine for the rest of the year and probably will bounce back around fantasy playoff time but I'm not 100% confident that he will be an upper-echelon starter after 2027.
