JD on Zack Wheeler (Aug 3, 2026): I'm very tempted to knock Zack Wheeler further down in the rankings due to his age, but he continues to perform at an insanely elite level and maintain premium velocity despite an injury that would be the death knell for most pitchers. You don't want to be left holding the bag when something goes sideways, and no player loses their value faster than a 35+ year old SP who goes down with an injury. Obviously no rule should be applied uniformly and you know the idiosyncrasies of your own league, but just know if you are riding the hot hand in Wheeler just know you are playing with fire.
