JD on Francisco Lindor (Oct 29, 2026): I think the only thing you can hope for now with Lindor is a graceful decline instead of a sharp drop. In his age 32 season he put up a .225 average with a 40th percentile sprint speed and a roughly league-average offensive year at 105 wRC+. He's not going to steal any bags anymore (3 SB in 2026) and I'm not sure the Mets will field a team that is an offensive juggernaut in 2027, meaning their run and RBI totals won't be anything special. He actually put up a career high in average exit velocity last year although his expected batting average was the lowest it ever had been. I guess there's the possibility he continues to hit home runs at a 30-per-600-plate-appearance rate into his mid-30s (Fun fact: he sneakily has put up 300 career home runs, which is at least 100 more than I would've expected before I was researching him), which would make him pretty valuable overall. But lets call a spade a spade, he is on the decline - let's just hope he's got a couple more years of life left.
