JD on Eric Hartman (Jun 29, 2026): It is so frustrating that Yahoo doesn’t have Hartman in their player pool yet, it’s ridiculous that Yahoo doesn’t have any rhyme or reason to the players in their system besides “vibes”. Hartman is a 20th round pick in 2024 that wasn’t on anyone’s radar until this year, where he has exploded for 19 HRs in just over 300 PA. I will be watching closely to see if this type of production persist as he climbs above High A. I’m a buyer here.
JD on Grady Emerson (Aug 25, 2026): I've seen a lot of people rank Grady as the number one prospect coming out of this draft and I think it's a relatively fair take, especially given the Rays track record. He still hasn't gotten his first hit yet, going 0-10 with 4 walks in 14 plate appearances, but that's largely meaningless with such a tiny sample size. I'm not willing to pay the price of him being the most valuable first-year player coming out of the 2026 draft, but he still looks like a top 5 guy in this class for the time being.
