JD on Emmanuel Rodriguez (Jul 30, 2026): Word is out that he is on a rehab assignment right now and I can't wait to see him back in action. I would love for him to get a cup of coffee at the end of the year and begin to build hype around a strong September that gives him and Walker Jenkins a starting role in the 2027 OF.
JD on Zyhir Hope (Aug 3, 2026): I love the landing spot for Hope with the Tigers, but I think every Dodgers prospect is better off getting out of LA and not having to compete with each other for playing time. Hope slots in immediately as the #2 prospect in the #1 prosect in the Tigers org for me (most people would have him #2 behind Max Clark, but I am not as high on him as most). With a .293 BA and 23 homeruns in AA this year, Hope has the kind of power that should allow him to reach 30 HR's a season easily, but still has enough of a hit tool that he should be able to hit for a relatively high average at the big league level. The tigers now look like a very exciting team with their pipeline of talent and Hope is another notch in the belt for a deep farm system.
