JD on Eli Willits (Jun 22, 2026): I feel pretty silly being so low on him, but I'm also not willing to fully change my initial read on him. Guys can dominate the lower levels of the minors and see their skill set hit a wall at the upper levels despite I'm seeming like I can't miss prospect. I think I'll be the one to sit out the Eli Willits hype train but I can see myself being very wrong on it in a couple of years.
JD on Theo Gillen (Jul 28, 2026): Theo Gillen really snuck up on me this year - I had never really given him much love because there is no power in his profile yet. Now that he has tapped into that potential, the ceiling is all of a sudden a lot higher. He has clubbed 16 home runs across two levels this year and has held his own with a 130 WRC+ in AA across 101 plate appearances. He may not have as high an end-of-ceiling as some of the top prospects but his floor is as high as anyone in the minor leagues. I think he will be a very exciting prospect when he debuts in late 2027 or early 2028. I probably won't be as high on him as some others are (our aggregated expert rankings have some analysts putting him in their top 10) but he is solid, the top 20 prospect for me.
