Dynasty: too close to call. Redraft: Cam Schlittler. The FanRanked staff dynasty board has them nearly level, Skubal #19 and Schlittler #20, and the expert consensus agrees (#21 and #14). The community leans Skubal, FRV 83.5 to 74.6. For 2026 redraft, the consensus has Schlittler ahead, #12 to #17, but the rest-of-season engine has Skubal ahead ($14 to $13).
JD on Cam Schlittler (May 27, 2026): This might be a bolder take than my Sanchez ranking at SP2 but I have a hard time figuring out why he shouldn't be ranked this high. 97 mph avg. FB Velo and hasn't really needed anything outside of his hard stuff to be incredibly successful. When the 4-seam and cutter are working you can ride those for an entire season because of how well they tunnel and how sharp this stuff is. Durability isn't really a concern either for me because he's got a great pitcher's frame and his best stuff was shown in October of last year. He gives me flashes of Astros-era Garrett Cole, who would just go up and mow hitters down, the only thing missing is the premium K-rate. Give it time.
JD on Tarik Skubal (May 27, 2026): Like I said in the Skenes blurb, I would have had him as my number one overall starter before the season started in Dynasty but the injury bug bit him. You can't have an injured pitcher be the number one overall in Dynasty option. Allegedly he is progressing well through rehab but if I see him come back towards the end of the year like he never missed a beat, then he might move back up for me. Like a house of cards, once you pull one card out of the foundation, things start to crumble and the whole frame becomes less stable. Obviously upside is number one overall pitcher. No one is disputing that. It's a matter of preference at this point. My preference is healthier, more durable pitchers over injury-prone pitchers, even if their upside might be higher.
