JD on Brice Turang (Jun 10, 2026): There's an interesting fallacy that occurs with glove-first guys where they get over-indexed on how good they are defensively and their offensive improvement seems to go unnoticed or under-appreciated (trade-marking the glove-first fallacy). I definitely was susceptible to this for a while because I always thought of Turang as a glove-first guy who was decently valuable in fantasy but was never worth paying too much attention to. At this point he has put together 900 plate appearances of elite offensive statistics and continues to hit in an incredibly strong lineup on a daily basis. If you were lucky enough to have Turang, I'd stick him in second base and forget about it for the time being because he's going to be a stalwart at the position for years to come. Sad to say I'm not one of the people who gets to enjoy the upside.
JD on Logan Gilbert (May 27, 2026): This is the start of another tier of pitcher for me, I think the theme of this tier is there is either something missing in the profile that doesn't make these arms a premium option or I need to see more of the early flashes on a consistent basis to fully buy in. Gilbert is easily in the first tier for me as I think he is one of the most reliable arms you'll find in the big leagues right now. Feels like he gets bitten by the HR a little bit too much which is why his ERA is in the 3.5 to 4 range consistently rather than in the 3 to 3.5 range and it's hard to expect a pitcher with a 4 ERA to serve as a number one unless you are in a 12-team or more league.
