JD on Andy Pages (Oct 20, 2026): I stumbled into Andy Pages as a throw-in in one of my dynasty leagues last year and I've always been a pessimist when it comes to his value. I know all leagues are different, but I couldn't get anyone to be interested in Pages after his hot start this year. Now that he has a full year in the books, I feel like it's hard to deny that he is clearly an upper-echelon dynasty asset going forward. Everything about his underlying profile is average to above average, he doesn't strike out a ton yet still makes a lot of good-quality contact, and he's in a top-tier lineup where he will get tons of runs and RBIs for the foreseeable future. He had an outside chance of hitting 30 home runs and stealing 15 bags if he didn't break his hand at the end of the season, and you pair that with a .274 batting average and you have a 5 category contributor entering the prime of his career in 2027. As of writing his consensus ranking is 54, but I feel like you'll be hard-pressed to find anyone ranking him lower than 50th overall once updated dynasty rankings come out for 2027.
JD on Cristopher Sanchez (Oct 20, 2026): Oh boy here we go, I really have to fight my personal infatuation with Chris Sanchez and the reality of this season. He very clearly peaked at the beginning of the season when he threw 50+ scoreless innings in a row, setting the MLB record for a left-handed pitcher. If you exclude that incredible all-time run, he was...very average. Post-All-Star break he put up a 3.39 ERA with a 1.23 WHIP. Definitely not bad statistics by any means but he feels like an imposter compared to the rest of the starters around him when you have guys like Skubal putting up sub-1 whips and Schlitter striking out 11+ guys per 9 innings. He is also the oldest starter on this list so far and has the most mediocre fastball, so if there is a guy who has the chance to take the biggest dip from his current ranking heading into the 2027 season, it's probably Sanchez. At the same time he also has the profile that I love for dynasty pitchers: very durable, doesn't rely on a high-spin high-velocity elite fastball, and consistently works deep into games, maximizing his wins and quality starts (if your league counts those). So this is the first pitcher I'm genuinely torn on - I wouldn't blame you for being uninterested in him in a dynasty startup, but if you're in a position where your team is built to win now, he could be one of the best arms you can find.
